Laugh Your Snowmass Off

You know you’re living in a small town when the guy who says goodbye to you the night before in Carbondale is the same guy who greets you the next day in Snowmass.

So it was with Clifford Fewel, the comedy impressario behind the Laugh Your Aspen Off troupe that filled Thunder River Theatre in Carbondale to the gills Saturday night with a combo platter of standup comedy. And there was Clifford again Sunday morning when the Wildcat Cafe in Snowmass served up a pile of pork Mexican style.

Small town? You betcha. If Fewel’s laugh-out-loud feast proves anything it’s that the distance between all of us who live in the Roaring Fork Valley is so small as to be non-existent. The sellout SRO crow also showed that there seems to be an insatiable search in the valley for what tickles.

Mono-Skiers Challenge Snowmass

Challenge Aspen will host their largest Mono-Ski Camp in 11 years January 8-12, with over 25 skiers with disabilities on the snow at Snowmass Mountain, following a specialized seating clinic on January 7.

“We are so excited to welcome participants to Snowmass from all over the world for this 11th Annual Mono-Ski Camp. We’re particularly delighted to welcome a group of newly injured soldiers from Operation Iraqi Freedom to this years’ camp. With such incredible participants, coupled with the best instructors and skiing conditions in the world … this will be one to remember!” says Sarah Williams, Challenge Aspen Managing Program Director.
